Marítimo on Madeira
Marítimo are Funchal's club, founded in 1910 by dock workers, and they play in green and red. Their ground, holding around 10,000, sits against the hillside on the west side of the city, just above the hotel zone. If you're on holiday in Madeira, an evening at Marítimo makes a great break from the levadas and the beach.
How ticket sales work
For the big games, against Benfica, Porto, Sporting and city rivals Nacional, the ground fills up fast. We sell official tickets in the home sections, so you sit among the Marítimo supporters. Your tickets arrive before the match.
Getting there
Madeira has direct flights from across Europe. From the hotels on the west side of Funchal you can walk to the ground, though it's a steep climb. If you're staying further away, take a taxi.

Can I walk from my hotel?
From the hotel zone on the west side of Funchal, yes: the ground is just above it. Expect a steep climb on the way there and an easy stroll back.
Will I sit among the home fans?
Yes, our tickets are for the home sections. So please don't wear the away team's colours, and definitely no black and white at the derby against Nacional.
Do I need ID?
Bring it. Tickets are issued in your name, and you may be asked for ID at the gate.
